What's New:

  • New content packages available directly in the app. Get Bird Sounds of Costa Rica, Bird Sounds of Australia, Bird Sounds of Mexico or the massive Bird Sounds of Brazil which comes with 4,500 recordings!
  • Download content for offline use. Great for birding in remote areas with no internet access.
  • MEMBER FEATURE: Use the Current Month feature to filter bird lists based on what has been sighted in the current month, including sightings in the past 7 years. This is particularly useful in areas where there is little eBird coverage.

There is also a long list of improvements and tweaks to make BirdsEye run more smoothly, including:

  • Cleaner display of species text
  • Clearer display of what life or year list you are using.
  • Bug fixes

The Bird Guide Store now includes the following titles:

  • Bird Sounds of Nicaragua by Doug Knapp and Tom Will
  • Bird Sounds of Sri lanka by Deepal Warakagoda and Uditha Hettige
  • Bird Sounds of Venezuela by Peter Boesman
  • Bird Sounds of Mexico by Peter Boesman
  • Bird Sounds of Costa Rica by Peter Boesman
  • Bird Sounds of Brazil by Peter Boesman
  • Bird Sounds of Australia by Fred van Gessel
  • Bird Sounds of Northern Siberia by Christoph Zöckler

Supported Platforms

BirdsEye NA and other regional versions are optimized for use with iPhone, and iPod Touch Platforms (a native iPad version is in the works), while BirdLog is available for Android, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.  Pulling in fresh data on bird sightings from Cornell’s eBird database requires internet access, either via cell phone or wireless connection. iPod touch users can use the full services of BirdsEye to plan birding expeditions while connected wirelessly. Stored data, sound, photographs and text are always available, even away from a cell phone connection.

Cornell Lab LogoBirdsEye is Powered by eBird
Our mission is to support bird conservation and science through the eBird project.  In addition to making apps that support and promote eBird, we also contribute a fraction of all of our sales to the Cornell Lab or Ornithology to provide financial support for eBird.

eBird at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology pulls in several million bird observations each month. These observations are added by thousands of birders and reviewed by local birding experts – making BirdsEye the most accurate, comprehensive bird location mobile application.
